The Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence celebrates 40 years

The Women’s Council for Domestic and Family Violence celebrated 40 years as a peak body at the Dignity conference in May.  This makes WCDVFS one of the oldest DV peaks in Australia, an amazing achievement, which is a testament to years of hard work by women passionate about make changes to improve the choices for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

The celebrations included a panel of well-known and longtime DV activists reminiscing about the past and their hopes for the future of FDV services.  The celebrations culminated in dancing and cake made by the talented Angela Hartwig.
